Following the overwhelming success of the Super Mario Bros. movie, Nintendo quickly greenlit an adaptation of The Legend of Zelda. Though the film is set to be live-action, the project’s director has expressed his hopes to “fulfil people’s greatest desires” with the project.

We have seen nothing from the upcoming live-action Legend of Zelda film since its announcement. That said, the project’s director ‘Wes Ball’ has spoken on the project a number of times.

In the latest issue of Total Film magazine (as part of GamesRadar), Wes Ball claimed to have some pretty big ambitions for the film, saying “I have this awesome idea. I’ve been thinking about it for a long freakin’ time, of how cool a Zelda movie would be… I want to fulfil people’s greatest desires. I know it’s important, this franchise, to people and I want it to be a serious movie. A real movie that can give people an escape.”

He continued, “That’s the thing I want to try to create – it’s got to feel like something real. Something serious and cool, but fun and whimsical.”

In a previous interview, Ball stated that “My whole life has led up to this moment. I grew up on Zelda and it is the most important property, I think, that’s untapped IP, if you will.”

Clearly, Wes Ball is passionate about the project, and so hopefully the Zelda film winds up being both a commercial and critical success. It’ll be interesting to see how the live action element gels with fans.

Tropic Haze, the company behind the Yuzu emulator, is being sued by Nintendo. Yuzu has existed for a number of years already without issue, so what was the straw that broke the camel's back? Well, that would be the mass piracy of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom launched last year after several delays and achieved great critical acclaim and went on to be a top seller. However, the game did also leak ahead of release. As part of its lawsuit against the Yuzu emulator, Nintendo revealed that it estimates that the game was downloaded and played over one million times prior to release.

“Defendant and its agents are fully aware of the use of Yuzu by others in performing circumvention, and in facilitating piracy at a colossal scale”, the lawsuit filing reads. “As to circumvention, Yuzu's website acknowledges that the Nintendo Switch's decryption keys (prod.keys) are required to decrypt games and includes links to software that unlawfully extract those keys from the Nintendo Switch”.

On the piracy side, the lawsuit filing states: “one recent major Nintendo video game, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, was unlawfully distributed a week and a half before its release by Nintendo. Infringing copies of the game that circulated online were able to be played in Yuzu, and those copies were successfully downloaded from pirate websites over one million times before the game was published and made available for lawful purchase”.

Yuzu itself has also showcased Tears of the Kingdom running within the emulator.

KitGuru Says: Nowadays if you see a Switch game on a torrent site, it usually comes with a link to download Yuzu, or it comes packaged with a version of the emulator. That may be ultimately what caught Nintendo's attention here, alongside Yuzu's very lucrative Patreon account, which has over 30,000 paid subscribers.

During Nintendo's latest earnings call, the company shared the total sales number for Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, ending the debate for the best-selling game of 2023. With over 22 million copies, Hogwarts Legacy has officially beaten out The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as 2023's best-selling game worldwide, which sold 20.28 million copies.

Warner Bros. Interactive shared the sales figures for the Harry Potter game almost a month ago, but back then, the total sales numbers for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom were still unknown. There was speculation that Zelda could have surpassed it in global sales, especially since Nintendo's digital sales figures were not disclosed outside of its financial results, which were only recently shared.

It's worth noting that Hogwarts Legacy was launched in February 2022, three months before The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's exclusive release on the Nintendo Switch. Despite this, Tears of the Kingdom still managed to sell an impressive 20.28 million copies in 2023.

Throughout the year, Hogwarts Legacy remained a chart-topper globally, with its delayed release on various platforms contributing to its success. Warner Bros plans to continue building on the success of the Harry Potter franchise with upcoming projects like Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions and others.

For years, we've been hearing rumours that Nintendo is planning a Hollywood adaptation of the Legend of Zelda franchise. Now out of the blue, Nintendo has confirmed exactly that, with plans for a live-action movie.

Unlike the Super Mario Bros movie, which was an animated movie, Nintendo's Zelda film will be live-action. It might be difficult to translate Zelda into a real-world setting but with the film being produced by Shigeru Miyamoto, alongside former Chief Creative Officer at Marvel, Avi Arad, we should see plenty of care put into the production and presentation.

Nintendo and Arad Productions will be producing the film, while Maze Runner director, Wes Ball, will direct the film. Nintendo says it is “heavily involved” in the production, with the film entering development this year. Currently, there is no word on cast or a release date, so it will be a while before we get to see the Zelda movie on screen.

Nintendo found success in the film industry this year with the Super Mario Bros. Movie, which generated over $1.3 billion in global box office sales. The Legend of Zelda franchise has shipped over 130 million units in its lifetime.

6 years on from Breath of the Wild, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is finally in the hands of fans. One of the biggest takeaways from the game so far is disbelief in how the console manufacturer was able to run this ambitious title on the woefully underpowered Switch hardware. Speaking in an interview, the game’s producer has now revealed that the team spent over a year polishing the game in order to achieve this result.

Speaking in an interview conducted by TheWashingtonPost, Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma revealed that Tears of the Kingdom was delayed from its initial 2022 release year to May 2023 in order to “make sure that everything in the game was 100 percent to our standards.”

The year’s delay to focus almost exclusively on polish helps to make sense of not only why the game took so long to come out, but how the game is even able to run on the Switch in the way that it does – with seamless transitions between the Hyrule’s 3 levels of depth.

2023 has not been the best year for games releasing in a polished state, with the likes of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Redfall, The Last of Us Part 1 on PC and Forspoken all launching in a less-than-ideal manner. As such, it is not only welcome, but encouraging to see the likes of Nintendo willing to delay a game by a full year in order to ensure it arrives in a solid state. Hopefully this inspires other studios and publishers to do the same.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom officially launched today. The game has already garnered a ton of extremely positive reviews, making it an easy GOTY contender for 2023. Now, speedrunners are already finding impressive ways to clear the game in record time.

Like Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom is a massive game with a huge open world to explore, although this time Hyrule is broken up into levels, with the mainland on the ground, islands floating in the sky and (spoiler warning) a pretty big underground map section too. Beyond that, the game is hiding tons of shrines and dungeons to explore and complete.

Given the size of the game, you would expect the first speedruns to clock in at several hours at least. However, players are already finding ways to drastically cut down on time. The most impressive run so far comes from gymnast86, who completed the game in just over 94 minutes. Almost half of that time is spent clearing the game's intro, which takes roughly 40 minutes.

While this initial speedrun is 94 minutes, there are already evident ways to shave time off. These early speedruns are still feeling out the game and all the necessities for clearing the final boss. Within a week or two, we'll probably start to see speedruns getting closer to the hour mark and eventually, bugs and tricks will be discovered to shrink the time down further.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is due to release tomorrow. Ahead of the launch, the first wave of reviews for the game have gone live today, garnering an overwhelmingly positive reception.

Much like its predecessor, Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom is launching to glowing praise from critics, garnering a 98 overall rating on Open Critic and a 97 overall rating on Metacritic. If the current scores hold in place, then Tears of the Kingdom will have matched Breath of the Wild's Metacritic score and over on Open Critic, it would be the highest-rated game of all time, tied with Super Mario Odyssey.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a direct sequel to Breath of the Wild. This time around, Link will have new powers and abilities. The Hyrule map has also been split between large areas on the ground, in addition to massive floating islands in the sky that need to be explored.

So far, reviewers seem to be impressed by the game's scale, Link's new suite of abilities and the new structure of the game, which includes the return of dungeons, which were absent in Breath of the Wild.

A few weeks ago, Nintendo aired a Zelda-focused Direct, showcasing new gameplay for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Now, Nintendo has released the third and final trailer for the game ahead of its launch next month.

The trailer is roughly three and a half minutes long and honestly, it is a really good trailer. We get a good look at Hyrule and the many floating islands above, before Link soars down from the sky, making for a very cinematic introduction.

From there, we get straight into the open world. If you were thinking this would just be more Breath of the Wild, you'd be wrong as judging by the trailer, this game goes much further and has a very different open world to the first game.

Given how ambitious the game is in scale and mechanics, I do have to wonder how well the game will run on the Nintendo Switch at launch. Breath of the Wild had some jitters at launch too but the developers also have much more experience developing for the Switch hardware now, so hopefully any early problems can be avoided.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a direct sequel to Breath of the Wild. It releases exclusively on Nintendo Switch on the 12th of May.

Earlier this year Nintendo confirmed the new release date for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the long-awaited sequel to Breath of the Wild. The game will be launching in May, but in the meantime, we'll be getting a good look at gameplay.

Tomorrow, the 28th of March, Nintendo plans to stream ten minutes of gameplay from Tears of the Kingdom, starting at 3PM GMT on YouTube.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was initially teased a couple of years ago, although at the time, the game was only known as ‘the sequel to Breath of the Wild'. An official title came last year, in addition to a new trailer for the game.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is now scheduled to launch on the 12th of May, it will also be the most expensive first-party Switch game to date, priced at $70.

It has been a couple of years since Nintendo first announced that it is working on a sequel to Breath of the Wild. Since then, we've all referred to this game as Breath of the Wild 2, but from today that changes. To close out today's Nintendo Direct, we got the first trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the official title for the sequel to Breath of the Wild. The new trailer once again showcases that Link will spending much of his time exploring floating pieces of Hyrule in the sky, gliding between each new area.

Originally, this game was planned for 2022, but was later pushed to 2023. Fortunately, it will still be releasing in the first half of next year, so it isn't too far away. As of today, the game is planned to launch for Nintendo Switch on the 12th of May 2023.

Here is the new cover art for the game:

Unfortunately, we do not have further details at this time, or a substantial chunk of new gameplay. With the game set for a May release though, we should see much more of the game in early 2022.

Nintendo's E3 Direct stream didn't bring us any Nintendo Switch Pro news, but it did bring us a brand new look at The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. The highly anticipated sequel is targeting a 2022 release date and will expand the world of Hyrule even further.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 will be set in the same world as the first game, but this time around, there are floating islands in the sky that Link can glide between to get around.

The trailer also gives us a look at new abilities and gear Link can use to tackle dungeon challenges, combat and exploration. Unfortunately, with the trailer only being 1:40 long, we don't get much gameplay to pick apart and analyse.

The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild does not have a final release date yet, but the game is planned to launch in 2022.

Last week, we reported that a Nintendo Indie World presentation was rumoured to be taking place this week, with a Direct to follow in the next week. Nintendo have since confirmed the existence of an Indie World presentation set for today. This makes next week’s Direct all but confirmed. Thanks to further leaks and rumours, we now know that Breath of the Wild’s sequel and Metroid are set to make an appearance at the Direct.

Revealed by a Twitter user who previously leaked E3’s cancellation before anyone else, they are now saying thatThere will be a Nintendo Direct next week with some teaser info about Breath Of The Wild 2, and supposedly a teaser about a Metroid game.

The Direct in question will most likely take place on the 26th of March, though that may change (the Indie World presentation was said to be occurring on the 18th, not the 17th as it was officially announced to be). Interestingly, when the Direct was first rumoured, it was claimed that the presentation would focus on 2020 titles. With the new leak, this insinuates that perhaps these titles might be released this year.

It is known that internally, Nintendo were targeting a 2020 release date for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s sequel, although nothing has been shown since the reveal trailer back during E3 2019, and the rumour was later refuted by another leaker.

Though we know that Nintendo are currently working on Metroid Prime 4, the use of “Metroid game” as opposed to Metroid Prime 4, suggest that perhaps the game in question is a title currently unknown to us. Nevertheless, we shouldn't have too long to wait to find out, as the Direct is rumoured to be taking place on the 26th of March. Time will tell whether these leaks pan out, but until then, fans have the Nintendo Indie World Presentation to enjoy.

One of the biggest surprises from E3 2019 was Nintendo's announcement for a sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. So far, all we've had is a short teaser and confirmation that the game is in the works. Rumours have risen expectations for a release date this year but according to one notable leaker, the game is taking longer than expected.

The unofficially titled Breath of the Wild 2 apparently won't be Nintendo's big holiday season game for this year, according to regular Nintendo leaker ‘Sabi' on Twitter.

Instead, there seems to be some buzz around a new Paper Mario game, or possibly even an official sequel to Mario Kart 8.

Of course, we don't have anything official on Nintendo's big releases for the second half of the year. A new Nintendo Direct is supposed to take place in Q1, during which we should get some new announcements, but the biggest teasers as always will arrive during E3.

The next Nintendo Switch exclusive will be Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which is launching in March.

KitGuru Says: I wasn't expecting Breath of the Wild 2 to release in 2020, so it is easy for me to buy in to this leak. Of course, nothing is confirmed yet though, Nintendo might have some official news to share later in the year.

Super Mario Maker 2 became a smash hit when it released earlier this year, quickly becoming one of the Switch’s best-selling titles. The game held many upgrades over its predecessor, such as new styles, new enemies, and new items. Nintendo has been relatively silent since its release however, with only one update of any significance. Earlier today though, Nintendo posted a trailer for Super Mario Maker 2’s 2.0 update, with its headline feature being that Link is now playable, with an entirely new toolset.

The update, set to arrive on the 5th of December, will bring with it a number of additions. In terms of enemies, there is spike, who was first introduced in Super Mario Bros. 3, and Pokey, who originates from Super Mario Bros. 2. Both these enemies will be affected by the various level themes available in the game. Update 2.0 will also bring with it a number of new items, to further the creative potential of levels.

The frozen coin will be available. Functioning similarly to regular ice blocks, frozen coins will differ in that the block will thaw out if hit by a fireball, or other hot items. The frozen coin will be available in all game styles, aside from Super Mario 3D World.

P Blocks have also been added to the game. These blocks turn on temporarily when a P Switch is activated. The difference here, between coins for example, is that these blocks are solid, and remain undamaged by both you and other enemies.

An item exclusive to Super Mario 3D World are the Dash Blocks. These blocks increase your running speed temporarily when stepped on. They will also increase your jump height and distance, allowing for many new platforming opportunities. Furthermore, the blocks will also affect the Koopa Troopa Car.

Lastly, but certainly not least, is the Master Sword power-up. This item is only available in the original Super Mario Bros. style, but when picked up, will transform Mario into Link, with all associated powers. Link can attack with his sword, guard with his shield, perform a dash attack, and down thrust. Link can also use his bow and arrow, and classic bombs.

A new game mode will also be added. Ninji Speedruns are timed events which pits you against a litany of other players, seeing who can complete custom Nintendo-created levels the fastest. All of this, and more, will be available when update 2.0 drops on the 5th of December.

KitGuru says: What do you think of this update? Do you think Nintendo will ever make a ‘Legend of Zelda Maker’? What else do you want to see added to the game? Let us know down below.

When Nintendo announced that a sequel to the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was in the works at its E3 press conference this year, many fans began to speculate on when they would be able to get their hands on the game. Journalist and leaker “Sabi”, is now claiming that Nintendo is aiming for the game to be released in 2020, perhaps sooner than many would have expected.

When the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild released in 2017, it quickly became the best-selling Zelda game of all time, selling over 15 million copies, and becoming one of the highest rated video games of all time. The news of its sequel at E3 2019 was therefore accompanied by great anticipation. With Breath of the Wild being first revealed in 2013, and not coming out for another 4 years, many fans expected to be waiting a long time for the release of its sequel.

According to Sabi however, the game is currently being developed with 2020 as the set target for its release date. This would put the release of the Breath of the Wild sequel around 3 years after the first game’s release, and around 1 year after its official announcement. While this may sound like pure speculation, Sabi has acquired a reputation for being accurate, to the extent that Nintendo themselves sent her a cease and desist letter in order to prevent her from leaking information during the previous E3.

Sabi does point out however that “Zelda release dates are historically delayed, internally or publicly”, so while the game may be targeting a 2020 release date, it might not hit it. Regardless, Nintendo’s aim of a 2020 release date is much sooner than what was perhaps expected. With Nintendo having no plans to reduce the cost of the Switch, perhaps a Breath of the Wild sequel is exactly what the console needs to maintain its sales throughout 2020, when the PS5 and Xbox Scarlett are releasing.

Discuss on our Facebook page HERE.

KitGuru says: What do you think of Nintendo’s target of 2020 for the Breath of the Wild sequel? Do you think they will be able to hit it, or will the game suffer a similar fate as the original Breath of the Wild, in being delayed multiple times? Let us know down below.

When the Nintendo Switch first launched, the console arrived alongside one killer launch title- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This full open-world take on Zelda proved to be incredibly popular and now, Nintendo is officially working on a direct sequel.

At the very end of Nintendo's E3 Direct presentation, the company announced that Breath of the Wild 2 was now in development, with a short teaser trailer to show it off. The teaser has Link and Zelda walking through a cavern under Hyrule castle, where Gannon appears to be getting resurrected by a mysterious being.

It is a more in-depth teaser than the one we got for Metroid Prime 4 but the messaging is still clear. Development on this is just beginning, so it will be a while before we can actually play it. The original Breath of the Wild took five years to create and this time, the developers are reportedly taking inspiration from Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2.

With all of that in mind, I'm not expecting to see this release in 2020, although 2021 seems like a possibility.

KitGuru Says: Breath of the Wild was an excellent game but there are some improvements I would like to see in the sequel. Either way, I have no doubt that it will be a great game when it eventually arrives. Did many of you play Breath of the Wild on Switch? Are you looking forward to the sequel?

Nintendo released its 8.0.0 update for the Switch two weeks ago, introducing a range of new features including a VR Mode and the ability to transfer saved data between systems. It seems as though the developer has snuck in another hidden feature that didn’t make the official changelog, as analysts are noting a decrease in loading times for some flagship titles.

It was first noticed in the latest 1.6.0 update to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which saw loading times slashed up to 10 seconds. GBATemp user Brawl345 revealed that loading the game from the main menu had been reduced from 31 seconds to 21 seconds, fast travel speeds had improved from 19 seconds to 11 seconds and shrines were now 3 seconds quicker to enter.

According to a comparison made by speedrunner Alexis de Champris, a physical copy of Breath of the Wild now runs about the same on Switch as it does on Wii U, making run-throughs significantly easier. The same can be said for Super Mario Odyssey since its version 1.3.0 update, which similarly saw Labo VR Goggle compatibility added and loading times reduced, although no exact times have been revealed.

Enthusiasts are stating that this is due to a feature dubbed ‘boost mode’ that temporarily cranks the CPU clock from 1GHz to 1.75GHz at certain intervals. This helps the system work harder when loading to help cut times down, but games will require an update before they can make use of the oddly hidden feature.

It’s not too surprising that Nintendo is currently thinking about boost clocks, as rumours detail potential budget and premium Switch consoles in the works. Since the firm has denied that it will be unveiling anything new at this year’s E3, an added boost to the current system is definitely welcome.

KitGuru Says: It is a mystery as to why Nintendo would keep a lid on the feature though, especially given that it improves the experience for everyone. Still, I’m not complaining as it means more time to explore the many different, rich gaming worlds out there. Are you currently playing anything on Switch? Have you noticed improved loading times?

A new game in the Legend of Zelda series has been underway since 2017, when producer Eiji Aonuma confirmed that the next instalment was in pre-production. It looks as though Xenoblade developer Monolith Soft is gearing up to begin working on the title now, explicitly hiring for the game.

The studio let out a tweet in Japanese, looking for technical artists, programmers, planners, designers and management support to join the team specifically to work on The Legend of Zelda. Monolith Soft is no stranger to the series despite its heavy ties to Xenoblade, having previously worked on Skyward Sword and doing a chunk of landscape design on Breath of the Wild.

The recruitment drive suggests that Monolith Soft will be heading up the development rather than assisting like it did with the previous entries, although this remains to be confirmed. Given that Nintendo is currently focusing on its Switch hardware during its third year, with heavy rumours of new iterations on the way, it is believed that the game will come out for the hybrid console, although this again remains to be confirmed.

KitGuru Says: Another Zelda on the Nintendo Switch would certainly be a treat, although we will have to see what’s happening as progress is made on its development. The nature of development on a Zelda game is often quite secretive anyway, so it could be some time before anything comes to light.

Since the release of Breath of the Wild in 2017, it’s been debated whether we would be lucky enough to see another Zelda title grace the Nintendo Switch. Fortunately, fans are set to be treated to one of the best in the series, as The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is being remade 26 years after its debut.

Originally released on the Nintendo Game Boy in 1993, Link’s Awakening began its life as a port of the highly popular Super Nintendo title A Link to the Past before evolving into a true sequel instead. Five years later, the game was given a new palette, becoming the first in the series to launch on the Game Boy Color.

Link’s Awakening is a strange game in the Zelda series, ditching the titular princess, Ganon, the Master Sword, the Triforce and the land of Hyrule in favour of the mysterious Koholint Island. The Island is filled with references to Nintendo’s other beloved series, with Tarin and the Cucco Keeper resembling Mario and Luigi, Yoshi appearing in the form of a doll and enemies from Super Mario arriving in abundance, such as Piranha Plants, Chain Chomps and Goombas.

Alongside a beautiful animated opening cinematic, the announcement trailer gives us a good look at what to expect from the comprehensive remake. Link looks decidedly more doll-like than his previous incarnations, which is sure to divide fans but I personally believe it captures the darkness of the Koholint well.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake will launch on Nintendo Switch later this year. Those that can’t wait for the remake can play the 1998 DX version on 3DS thanks to the eShop Virtual Console.

KitGuru Says: It’s safe to say that I cannot wait for the remake. If you missed out on the original, I highly recommend waiting for the remake. The controls are now out-dated, but the game remains on par with Majora’s Mask as my favourite in the Zelda series. Did you manage to complete the original? Will you be playing the remake when it comes out?

Earlier this week, comments from The Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma sent Nintendo fans into a whirlwind of speculation, hinting at a Skyward Sword port on the Switch. Unfortunately, the firm has since shot down these reports, stating that it has no plans to return to the Wii title just yet.

While Skyward Sword wasn’t quite as well received as other mainline entries in the series thanks to its compartmentalisation of the overworld, it still managed to establish the history of the franchise by providing the origin of the Master Sword and the endless cycle Link and Zelda are caught in.

Aonuma recently took to Chinese networking site Weibo with a post about the game, stating “I know what you are thinking, Skyward Sword for Switch, right?” Since then, the post has been shared numerous times and picked up by various news sites.

Although Nintendo had yet to push out an official statement, the hint was barely questioned given the firm’s history of porting and remasters. The Wii U alone saw Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD reach the platform. There were many even speculating how well Skyward Sword’s motion controls would be translated to the Switch’s JoyCons.

Sadly, a Nintendo spokesperson confirmed in a statement to the press that it currently has “no plans to release The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on Nintendo Switch.” While this is sad for those excited at playing an official HD remake of the 2011 title, Nintendo has still expressed interest in keeping momentum with its Legend of Zelda series. Currently, it is uncertain what the future holds, but eyes turn to next week’s The Game Awards in hopes of a new unveiling.

KitGuru Says: Personally, Skyward Sword was one of my least favourite entries so far, but I still would relish the chance to play through it again. The Legend of Zelda is one of very few series to maintain a consistent barrage of critically acclaimed titles, even 30 years after it first launched. Would you like to revisit older games on the Switch or are you hoping for something new?

Over the last few years, there have been numerous rumours surrounding a TV series surrounding The Legend of Zelda. Nintendo has debunked these rumours in the past but they keep popping up, with the latest reports claiming that Netflix's Castlevania producer is in talks to produce a Zelda series.

Castlevania is a great anime series based on the story from the classic games. The series is produced by Adi Shankar, who announced on Instagram that he is now “working with an iconic Japanese gaming company to adapt one of their iconic video game series into a series”. According to a report from The Wrap, this new TV show will adapt The Legend of Zelda.

The project is supposed to be officially announced on the 16th of November. There are still plenty of question marks floating around though. We don't know if this series will end up going to Netflix, and we don't know if it will be animated or live action.

Back in 2015, rumours pointed towards a live-action version of The Legend of Zelda but given the success of Castlevania as an anime, it wouldn't be surprising to see Zelda get the same treatment.

KitGuru Says: Out of all of Nintendo's IP, The Legend of Zelda makes the most sense for a show in my opinion and thanks to Breath of the Wild, the series is more popular now than ever. Do you guys think a Zelda series would work well? Do you think it should be animated or live-action?

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s second DLC has been pegged for a December release since July, however Nintendo has kept hush about exactly when players can get their hands on it. That was until it appeared during last night’s The Game Awards 2017, in which the company announced the surprise release that it would be made available today, the 8th December.

The Champions’ Ballad DLC has already been revealed as a story addition to the main game, centring around the four Champions that died in battle 100 years prior to Link’s awakening (pun intended), as well as Zelda herself.

Alongside its story elements, we’ve known that it was set to come with new outfits, such as Wind Waker’s classic blue lobster shirt. It turns out Twilight Princess’ Zant will be lending his armour for the DLC too.

The trailer also showcases a “one-hit obliterator” that looks like an oddly shaped tuning fork. What this does is trade all but a quarter of Link’s hearts to grant it the power to kill any monster in one hit. This isn’t the only trade off you will have to deal with, as the obliterator only has a limited number of charges before it loses the power to kill in a single hit, forcing the player to back off and wait a little, or risk switching to another weapon while at such low health.

These new quests are only available for season pass holders, and will activate for the player once all respective Divine Beasts are completed, prompting a voice from Zelda to call Link back to the Shrine of Resurrection, where it all began.

If you manage to complete all of the quests, Link will be granted something akin to “his own Divine Beast” in the form of an ancient motorcycle. This is intended to help Link traverse the large landmass with ease on his quest to, presumably, find the remaining Korok seeds as most content will likely be completed by this point. That is unless Nintendo plans to give us a second season pass worth of content.

KitGuru Says: Here’s hoping Breath of the Wild does receive some more content after The Champions’ Ballad, as Nintendo is known for long development times on the series. Of course, as we’ve witnessed, it does pay off in grand ways. Will you be jumping back into Breath of the Wild?

Cemu developers have worked tirelessly to make Breath of the Wild as optimised as it can be on the platform and it looks to have created a ‘Buzz' in the modding community. Recently we've seen a bunch of characters from other franchises make their way over, and while some fit better than others, Toy Story's Woody is a surprising fit.

While the character isn't known to wield a sword in any traditional sense, it's Pixar's timeless artstyle that just so happens to gel flawlessly with the latest Zelda's vibrant world. If anything, the sheer size of the world in Breath of the Wild is enough to feel like you're but a small toy in the first place.

Mods such as this seemed to be popping up all over the place, starting last week with CJ following the wrong damn train in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and ending up in Hyrule. Wandering into the wrong neighbourhood, CJ is forced to swap an armoury of guns for swords and bows to teach these fools a lesson.

This was followed shortly after with Minecraft's Steve, Mario's Waluigi and loose inspiration taken from The Witcher series in making Link look a lot like Geralt. While not heroic, Breath of the Wah starring Waluigi did crack me up a bit.

Unfortunately these mods can't be found for the vanilla version on the Nintendo Switch, but hopefully there's more to come from the modding community as Breath of the Wild's potential is limited only to the imagine of the creator.

KitGuru Says: Now, if Tom Hanks or even Jim Hanks could just come out and voice Woody for a Breath of the Wild/Toy Story crossover, that would be fantastic. What crazy mods and characters would you like to see make their way to the game?
