The Legend of Zelda is one of Nintendo’s most prestigious franchises. Though the release of 2017’s Breath of the Wild somewhat reinvented the franchise, older entries in the series are still loved by millions. After more than 5 years on the market, the Switch may finally be getting The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and The Wind Waker.

This leak comes from industry insider Jeff Grubb who during the most recent episode of his Nintendo podcast claimed that The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess and The Wind Waker would be coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year – most likely in October.

According to Grubb, these games will release as part of a double pack, meaning that Switch owners will be getting two games for the price of one. Of course, it is worth noting that while both of these titles received Wii U HD remasters, Twilight Princess and The Wind Waker originally released for the GameCube, meaning that these games are technically multiple generations old.

With that in mind, releasing the games as a twin pack does make sense, though with Nintendo’s history or re-releases such generosity would be surprising. We will have to wait and see when Nintendo officially announces this twin pack – or not.

KitGuru says: What do you think of these games? Would Nintendo release them as a twin pack? What other Wii U games do you still want to come to Switch? Let us know what you think down below.

2021 marks the 35th anniversary for The Legend of Zelda series. As part of this celebration, Nintendo announced that it would be remastering Skyward Sword in HD and bringing it to the Switch this year. While many fans were left disappointed at the lack of news regarding Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD, it has been reported that these two titles are still very much on the way.

As reported by both Andy Robinson of VGC and Tom Phillips from Eurogamer, both The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will be coming to the Nintendo Switch this year.

Typically, Nintendo likes to release one Zelda-related game per year, and seeing as how Skyward Sword HD was announced to br releasing this July, many fans were left wondering whether that would be it for Zelda in 2021. Fortunately, it seems as though that will not be the case.

Last year for Mario’s 35th anniversary, Nintendo released the Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection – a set of three classic Mario titles remastered for the Switch. With Skyward Sword already announced, and Twilight Princess + Wind Waker already having been remastered for the Wii U, it makes sense that these games would make their way to the Switch eventually.

Still, with Skyward Sword, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess all supposedly coming to the Switch in 2021, it begs the question as to whether the much-anticipated Breath of the Wild sequel will also come this year, or if fans will have to wait even longer to play the game.

KitGuru says: Which of the three Zelda games are you excited for the most? When do you think Breath of the Wild 2 will come out? What is your favourite Zelda game? Let us know down below.

Nintendo has been experimenting with its Amiibo figures for a while now and for the most part, they have been a big success and in some cases, demand has been difficult to keep up with. However, it would seem that owning Amiibo is going to become increasingly important for future games as Nintendo's upcoming Zelda: Twilight Princess HD game will have a locked off dungeon that you can't access without the Wolf Link Amiibo.

The NFC figure will be sold in a bundle with the game itself but also be available separately but right now we don't know what effect this will have on the price of the game.

This information was first posted on Amazon France but later removed as an official announcement has yet to come from Nintendo. The item description did say: “Unlock bonuses with ‘The Legend of Zelda' Amiibos. Tap all the Amiibos for the Zelda series to unlock bonuses in the game, such as regenerating your life, or getting arrows for your bow. The new Wolf Link Amiibo even allows you to get into a new dungeon: ‘The Twilight Cave'.”

Save data from this Wolf Link Amiibo can be carried over for bonuses in the new Legend of Zelda game heading to the Wii U this year though we don't know exactly what this feature will bring just yet.

KitGuru Says: This is certainly an odd move. On the one hand, people hate locked off content within a game enough as it is and locking content behind a plastic figure pay-wall could arguably be worse. However, an official announcement has not yet been made and we don't know anything in regards to pricing so it may be a bit too soon to jump to conclusions.
