Yesterday, Microsoft officially announced the next batch of titles for Xbox Game Pass, all of which will land on the service before the end of the month. Unfortunately, some titles have to be cycled out due to expiring agreements. Typically, we see just a handful of titles removed each month, but there is a particularly big exodus scheduled for August.

On the 31st of August, ten titles will be leaving Xbox Game Pass, and much of the list is made up of big, recognisable games. NBA 2K22, which only just joined the service a short while ago, is now leaving the service just in time for the launch of NBA 2K23, which will not be a day-one Game Pass title.

One of 2021's biggest day-one indies for Game Pass, Twelve Minutes, is now leaving the service after a year too. Myst, one of the first Xbox Series X games to feature AMD's FSR technology, is also leaving the service, as well as Supergiant's rogue-like hit, Hades.

The full list of titles leaving Xbox Game Pass on the 31st of August includes:

  • Elite Dangerous (Cloud and Console)
  • Hades (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Myst (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • NBA 2K22 (Cloud and Console)
  • Signs of the Sojourner (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Spiritfarer (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Twelve Minutes (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Two Point Hospital (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • What Remains of Edith Finch (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • World War Z (Cloud, Console, and PC)

While there are some major titles leaving Xbox Game Pass, there are also a lot of good new games on the horizon. Titles like High On Life, Grounded, Scorn, Pentiment, A Plague Tale: Requiem and more are heading to Game Pass in the next few months. In 2023, we will get new pillar titles for the service too, including Bethesda's Starfield and Arkane's Redfall.

Discuss on our Facebook page, HERE.

KitGuru Says: There are a lot of recognisable names leaving the Game Pass library this month, but there is still plenty left over to play and new additions to the library are just on the horizon.

Sega’s Two Point Hospital managed to capture almost everything that made classic management simulator Theme Hospital a delight, from the wacky diseases to the charming comedic presentation. Fortunately for returning players, developer Two Point Studios has now introduced Steam Workshop support, allowing users to create their own content.

Steam Workshop support arrives as a part of the free Interior Designer update, which allows players to customise wallpaper, floors, rugs and pictures for a more personalised hospital. Creating walls and floors is as simple as clicking the Steam logo at the top and importing an image from the user’s hard drive or browsing the Workshop.

Making new items offers a few more options. Rugs come in a variety of shapes and sizes, from the standard rectangle, oval or circle to ones specifically intended for the corner of a room. Users can surround their pictures with wooden, expensive or square frames, or choose between canvas and poster-like variants before adding the design.

There are a number of custom items already available on the Steam Workshop for players to get started with, and more is undoubtedly on the way as fans tinker with the tools now available. For those that haven’t had a chance to pick up Two Point Hospital, it is currently 20% off on Steam’s Lunar New Year Sale for £19.99.

KitGuru Says: Personally, I don’t think a game can ever go wrong with mod support and I can only imagine the crazy things that are about to come to the game. What would you like to see Two Point Studios do with the game?

In the third instalment of the ‘Briony Games’ series – reviewer and gaming addict Briony tries out ‘Two Point Hospital', the spiritual successor to Bullfrog's Theme Hospital from 1997. Briony hadn't tried the game before filming this video, so come and watch as she designs her own hospital and endeavours to cure some unusual ailments, including Bed Face, Lazy Bones and Mock Star disease.

Two point Hospital Gameplay begins with a simple hospital with a small number of patients and as the levels advance it gets tougher with more patients and harder challenges. You have to Improve your facilities, upgrade machines, staff and layouts to bring in money at a faster rate. You can hire new staff members with specific abilities and train current staff members with new ones.

To help you make the right decisions, the game includes a ton of statistics to show off the strengths and weaknesses of your hospital. This includes everything from the amount of patients cured, to visitor satisfaction and staff happiness. If money ends up becoming tight, you can take out a loan or jack up the prices of treatments. The idea is to find the right balance, which becomes trickier as you start tackling larger hospitals with more patients. All while striving to turn a profit. Of course, all of this is done with Bullfrog's classic sense of humour.

Make sure to check out the video above to get Briony's first impressions!

KitGuru says: Let us know what you think of two point hospital so far! Briony will be doing another video in the near future to give a final review after she puts in some more hours.

A lot of people sunk time into Theme Hospital, the cult classic from Bullfrog. Now, people will be able to get their wacky hospital simulation fix once again as spiritual successor, Two Point Hospital, is releasing next month.

Two Point Hospital will be launching on the 30th of August, as revealed by the game's latest trailer. The new footage follows the trials and tribulations of Trevor, showing that the game has not lost its sense of humour:

Two Point Hospital is a spiritual successor to Theme Hospital in more ways than one. A few former Bullfrog staff members are working on the game, and it shows in both gameplay and execution. Early impressions of the game at E3 were very positive, which is a promising start.

Two Point Hospital will launch on the 30th of August on Steam for £24.99. Pre-ordering gets you 10% off, bringing the price down to £22.49.

KitGuru Says: It’s great to see Theme Hospital getting a spiritual successor that not only matches its older brother but seems to exceed it in many ways. Are you looking forward to Two Point Hospital?

It seems that this generation of gaming is built upon nostalgia, bringing back the classics in various different ways. It seems that isn’t limited to any type of genre as Sega and Two Point’s newly announced Two Point Hospital channels its inner Theme Hospital.

Released way back in 1997, Theme Hospital is a PlayStation and PC title that simulates what it’s like to design and run a privately owned hospital. It was underlined with the comedic brilliance of the original Theme Park team that left it cemented as a classic and has resulted in numerous rereleases on the PSN store, Origin and GOG as well as an attempt to create an open-source remake known as CorsixTH.

Two Point Hospital will act as a spiritual successor 21 years later, spearheaded by ex-Lionhead and Bullfrog veterans Mark Webley and Gary Carr who have gone on to found Two Point Studios. Its announcement trailer echoes the same absurdness as the classic it draws inspiration from, with “Light Headedness” resembling the similarly whacky Bloaty Head from the original.

Of course, the creators are keen to stress that while Two Point Hospital does take clear inspiration from Bullfrog’s Theme Hospital, it is a completely new game in its own right. It will take the quirkiness and make sure to add depth into the mechanics, treating it like the simulator it is.

Mod support is planned for some time after its initial release, alongside online features such as leaderboards to spark competitive play and up-to-date challenges for players to overcome. The trailer pegs the game for launch this year, with Steam as the only listed platform.

KitGuru Says: This brings back a lot of memories for me, as the humour has always struck me as unique. It’s surprising that there hasn’t been another game like it in years, but sim games aside from EA’s The Sims series have shown a lot of fatigue. Hopefully this time it’ll be different. Are you interested in Two Point Hospital? Did you play the original Theme Hospital?
