Blizzard disables Mei in Overwatch 2 due to ice wall bug

Overwatch 2 has been out for roughly one month at this point and we've already seen a couple of heroes disabled in-game due to bugs. Just recently, Bastion finally returned after weeks of being out of the game. unfortunately, now another character is being disabled for a period of time.

Mei, a popular DPS character in Overwatch, is being disabled for a couple of weeks while Blizzard addresses a bug with one of her abilities. Currently, Blizzard is aiming to have everything fixed in time for Overwatch 2's planned patch on the 15th of November.

The bug in question pertains to Ice Wall, one of Mei's abilities, which as you would expect, spawns a wall of ice on the map. Typically this is used to cut the enemy off, but it can also be used to help boost teammates to ledges and hard-to-reach areas.

A bug with the ability allowed for the Ice Wall to be used to reach “unintended locations” of the map and in some cases, it could also be used to get outside of the map.

KitGuru Says: Mei is a very useful character and is pretty popular among DPS players. So far though, Blizzard hasn't had to disable any support or tank characters, which is good as there is a lower selection of those heroes.
