Ubisoft details plans for Rainbow Six Siege Year Three

We are just about to come to the end of Rainbow Six Siege's second year of content, which means it is time to start looking ahead to ‘Year Three'. Today, Ubisoft announced that it would be continuing content updates in January 2018, with four quarterly season drops planned once again.

Rainbow Six Siege ‘Year Three' will include two new operators and a new map each season as expected. However, there will also be a new co-op multiplayer mode called ‘The Outbreak', which seems to be a zombie hoard mode, similar to Left 4 Dead, or Call of Duty's Nazi Zombies.

Ubisoft Montreal revealed the new game mode at an event over the weekend, according to Eurogamer, adding that players will be fighting “against something you might not totally expect”. The Outbreak mode will be free for all Rainbow Six Siege players when ‘Season 1' of Year Three launches. It will only be around for four weeks though, after that, it will go away.

Rainbow Six Siege's first drop of content next year will be called ‘Operation Chimera' and focuses on biohazard specialists from France and Russia. In Season Two, we will see two new Italian GIS operators, in season three we will see a complete rework of an existing map and get access to operators from Scotland Yard. Finally, in Year Three season four, we will return to Morocco and get two new GIGR operators.

KitGuru Says: Ubisoft's roadmap for Rainbow Six Siege's third year seems promising. I'll be looking forward to checking out the new content as it lands. Are many of you still playing Rainbow Six? What do you think of Ubi's plans for Year Three so far?
