Guilty Gear Strive 2.0 update finally arrives next month

Since as far back as last August, the team at Arc System Works have been teasing a major update coming to their anime fighter Guilty Gear Strive. Said to be arriving in the form of version 2.0, the update had not been given a release window outside of ‘2026’. Luckily, fans won’t have to wait much longer, with Guilty Gear Strive 2.0 officially set to go live on the 9th of April.

Making the official announcement at the end of the Arc World Tour Finals, the team at Arc System Works confirmed that Guilty Gear Strive will receive its 2.0 update on the 9th of April in alignment with the start of Season 5.

Alongside additions including new special moves; the counter blitz mechanic; customisation and more, version 2.0 will also coincide with the release of a new character – Jam Kuradoberi. Following them will be Robo-Ky sometime during the Summer, with two more characters planned for Winter 2026 and Spring 2027 respectively.

While we will have to wait until closer to launch to receive a full breakdown of all the patch notes, it is exciting to finally have an official release date for the long-awaited 2.0 update.
