Dragon Age 2 downloadable patch for highest texture settings

Dragon Age 2 is a hotly awaited game, but it looks as if PC users will have to download a seperate patch if they want to play the game with super high resolution textures. Fernando Melo, the Senior Producer posted on the official forums with the information.

As expected, this news is not sitting well with PC gamers, as they feel this should have been included in the game, out of the box, rather than having to hunt for a seperate patch for the game.

We will be releasing the high res texture pack next week (Monday I believe).
It'll be a manual download – you will be able to grab it here on the site similar to a patch for DAO. It will come with its own installer etc.
Also worth noting that there are new ATI and nVidia drivers due Monday (or Tuesday) I believe, which will increase performance and stability for DA2 on DirectX11 cards.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.

  1. smells of a console port, with a later patch to get it lookin better. I doubt people will be happy.

  2. Such a dumb idea, why not fix the bloody thing from the get go? not excited about this game at all now. so much crap going on behind the scenes.

  3. I don’t understand why people complain when they’re at least trying to fix it lol
There are so many games out there with know bugs, player made fixer and all that…Released games that really needed an patch but never received!
So I’m glad to see that there is support for Dragon Age 2 🙂
