Razer pushes into content creator market with StreamElements acquisition

Razer doesn't do a lot of mergers and acquisitions, but that changed this week with the announcement that Razer has acquired StreamElements, one of the most widely used creator tool platforms for streamers and YouTubers.

StreamElements is used daily by millions of creators across Twitch, YouTube, Kick and other platforms, offering tools such as overlays, alerts, chatbots, tipping pages and sponsorship management. With this acquisition, Razer now owns the intellectual property, platform data and operational assets behind StreamElements, though the service will continue to operate independently.

Razer says creators will see no changes to their day‑to‑day workflow. All existing tools, including OBS and Streamlabs integrations, tipping, SE.Live, SE.Merch and sponsorships remain fully functional. StreamElements accounts, login details and creator data stay intact, with no migration required. However, there is an updated Privacy Policy taking effect from August 1st, and must be accepted to ensure continued access to LiveTools.

The company also confirmed that outstanding creator payments owed prior to the acquisition remain the responsibility of Live Momentum Ltd., which has begun issuing those payments. Razer’s focus is on maintaining continuity of service while investing in long‑term platform stability and future feature development.

Razer refreshed its Content Creator Program in 2024, onboarding tens of thousands of creators with perks, bounty campaigns and direct access to staff. Bringing StreamElements into the fold strengthens Razer’s position in the creator space, with plans to explore deeper integrations across its hardware and software ecosystem, including potential links with Razer Chroma RGB, Razer Gold and Silver, and Razer ID.

StreamElements will continue to operate as a standalone platform under a Razer subsidiary, with the existing team and product roadmap remaining in place.

KitGuru Says: StreamElements is a major part of the modern streaming toolkit, so continuity is the key concern here. Razer’s acquisition keeps the platform running as‑is while opening the door to deeper integrations for creators over time.
