Silverstone launches new RM51 5U rackmount chassis

Silverstone is expanding its lineup of rackmount chassis' this week with the new RM51. The new case adds some extra height compared to its predecessor, the RM44, providing more headroom for cooling with space for larger 180mm fans.

The RM51 is SilverStone’s new take on the rackmount chassis, adding liquid cooling radiator compatibility and room for large 180mm fans for additional cooling. It is also the largest rackmount chassis produced by Silverstone to date with its 5U form factor. The RM51 is designed for users seeking to maximise space optimisation, without sacrificing support for top-tier hardware components.

The chassis supports motherboards up to SSI-EEB in size, and there is clearance for graphics cards up to 455mm long, and PSUs up to 190mm. The front of the case comes pre-equipped with two Air Penetrator 184i Pro fans, providing front-to-back airflow. You can also throw in a 360mm liquid cooling radiator if you'd prefer to go down that route. A fan bracket is included with the case so you can swap the dual 180mm fans for up to three 120mm fans if preferred.

A graphics card retainer sits on the top of the chassis, which includes reserved storage drive mounting holes to prevent sagging and dislocation of graphics cards. You'll also find room for up to three 2.5″ SSDs or two 3.5″ HDDs here. There is also a removable drive cage and the internal chassis includes four 2.5″ SSD trays. In total, the RM51 can support up to seven 2.5″ SSDs, or four 3.5″ HDDs combined with up to four 2.5″ SSDs.

Other notable features include reserved mounting holes for sliding rails, 1 x USB Type-C interface, 8 x PCI expansions slots, and last but not least, case feet and handle bars to make transportation easier, and paving the way for vertical orientation instead of the usual horizontal orientation.

The Silverstone RM51 is available starting this month with an MSRP of $489.99.
