A free to play co-op Witcher game is reportedly in development

For years now, we have been hearing about CD Projekt Red's experiments with multiplayer, along with plans for a co-op Witcher spin-off. Now, a new report claims to give us the first details on what to expect from one in-the-works co-op Witcher game.

According to a new report from MP1st, a free tp play multiplayer Witcher game is in development, accessible through mobile or PC, with no apparent console version planned. The game will be set many decades before the events of the mainline Witcher games, during a time where Geralt would still be very young.

The main gameplay loop will reportedly be familiar to those who did side content in The Witcher 3. Players will make their own custom Witcher character, choosing abilities from different Witcher schools, then join up with friends to take on monster contracts and other quests.

While this game does seem to share DNA with Project Sirius, a known Witcher project that is also believed to have a multiplayer focus, it sounds like that game will be separate from the one MP1st is reporting on here.

KitGuru Says: It seems there may be a second multiplayer Witcher game in the works. However, at this point, what most fans are looking forward to is The Witcher 4, anything else runs the risk of being viewed as filler at this point in time.
