Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor has received its biggest post‑launch update yet, as Ghost Ship Publishing and Funday Games roll out the Heavy Duty Expansion alongside a major free patch. The DLC introduces a new class, fresh mission content, and a biome, while the free update adds Endless Mode and expanded progression systems.
The centrepiece of the expansion is the Demolisher, a high‑mobility, high‑damage class built around the Rockdozer, a vehicle that reshapes terrain and ploughs through swarms. Its class mods emphasise aggressive, fast‑paced play, giving players new ways to clear paths and control the battlefield.
Players also gain access to the Egg Hunt mission, where they must extract Alien Eggs before a final showdown with a Brood Nexus. The new Glacial Strata biome adds slippery surfaces and environmental hazards, creating more unpredictable combat encounters.
Launching in parallel, the free update introduces Endless Mode, a survival challenge that escalates through increasingly intense stages. It’s supported by expanded upgrade options designed to push late‑game builds further.
The game has now sold more than two million copies since its Early Access debut, with community feedback shaping its evolution. To mark the expansion’s arrival, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is discounted on Steam.
KitGuru Says: I've sunk many hours into this game on Steam Deck so I'll likely be picking up this DLC very soon. Have any of you tried Deep Rock Galactic Survivor?
