AMD’s Radeon HD 7770 Specs revealed via CPU-Z

Thanks to a freshly leaked GPU-Z screenshot we can ascertain the specifications of one of AMD's next desktop cards in line, the mid-range HD 7770 which is on the verge of release.

Based on the new “Cape Verde” GPU, the card will feature a lesser number of better-configured Graphics CoreNext stream processors that help decrease transistor counts and power draw while providing superior performance. The GPU-Z screenshot shows a GCN stream processor count of 640, 40 TMU's, 16 ROPs and a 128-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface.

The HD 7770's core clock rate is presumed to be a solid 1GHz out of the box, but there is a slight chance the card used in the GPU-Z shot is a factory-overclocked model. Meanwhile, the GDDR5 memory runs at 1125MHz (actual) / 4500MHz (effective) and gives 72 GB/s of memory bandwidth. The HD 7770's typical board power rating is said to be 80W.

Pricing as usual will be a key factor in just how successful this series of cards is, which while unconfirmed looks to be around the US $190 mark, where the HD 7750 will be somewhere around the US $140 mark.
