Flash Player 11 and Air 3 launched by Adobe

Adobe have announced new software updates today in the shape of Flash Player 11 and Air 3. This is to aid software developers to build new applications with many new features in the deskop and mobile market.

These new software releases are major announcements for Adobe and will be freely available to the public in October according to Anup Murarka the director of product marketing for the company.

The new releases will allow 2D and 3D games to be delivered across the net to devices, Murarka added. He also pointed out that large organisations will be able to build dashboard systems to ‘visualise complex data sets'.

Faster 3D rendering is added to the new releases. Adobe said that a pre release version for Apple iOS, Android and Blackberry Tablet OS is now available, with a full retail release coming in the near future.

Developers will also have the ability to package Air 3 within an application to simplify installation of applications on Android, Windows and Macintosh OSx.

Adobe statistics highlight 130 different models of smartphones as well as 85 tablets which can run Flash based programs by the end of the year, which works out at around 200 million units.

    Flash Player 11, finally. Hopefully this version is less fail.

    But then again, I doubt it. Personally won’t keep my fingers crossed over it…..
