First ATI HD6870 benchmark – author of GPUz says card ‘not fake’

GPU Design have posted information from a chinese website which shows a GPU Z screenshot and a 3DMark Vantage Extreme benchmark of the upcoming Radeon HD6870 graphics card – expected to retail before the end of the year.

– GPU ID: “6718″ according to codenames shown in Catalyst 10.8 driver indicates “Cayman XT” GPU.

– Bus width: 256-bit, same as the HD 58xx.

– Core Clock: 850 MHz, same as the HD 5870.

– Memory Clock: 1600 MHz or 6400 MT/s which is ~33% higher than that of the HD 5870 resulting in a memory BW of 204.8 GB/s which is higher than that of the GTX 480 by ~18.17%.

According to “W1zzard” the author of GPU-Z: “nothing i can see in the gpuz part of the screenshot that suggests it’s fake

  4. The only thing wrong with this, and i know it’s leaked so i’m replying pretty late, but the core clock on the 6870 is actually 900MHz so it’s a little faster than the 5870.
