Sony confirms plans to announce 20 games during State of Play tomorrow

In recent weeks, there have been rumblings that Sony is planning a new State of Play stream for September, unveiling the next wave of titles for PS5 (and PC). Now, Sony has confirmed its plans, with the stream set to go live tomorrow evening.

Today Sony confirmed last week's leak, announcing that the next State of Play stream will take place tomorrow, the 24th of September, starting at 11PM BST for those of us in the UK.

State of Play is Sony's major stream, typically happening three to four times a year. Previous streams have revealed plans for major exclusives like the KOTOR Remake, Silent Hill 2, and the most recent Final Fantasy titles, as well as upcoming first-party games. With Concord bombing at launch and swiftly being taken offline, we are unlikely to see that game return in this stream.

We can expect to see Horizon Zero Dawn remastered during this stream, as the ESRB leaked the game for PC and PS5 last week.

Aside from that, we may see updates on Death Stranding 2, Insomniac's Wolverine game, which is rumoured for 2025, and perhaps even some Spider-Man 2 DLC. Personally, I would like to see what Suckerpunch has been working on since the release of Ghost of Tsushima. Sony has stated it plans to show 20 games in total, so there should be a good list of new game announcements on the way. We will no doubt see more from Sony's live-service push too.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
