The Cyberpunk Trading Card Game continues impressive Kickstarter run

Over the years, CD Projekt Red has dabbled in tabletop gaming from time to time. Following the success of a licensed Witcher board game, CD Projekt Red surprised fans this month with the announcement of an official Cyberpunk Trading Card game. Initially seeking $100,000 in crowd funding, the game has surpassed expectations, raising over $12 million so far.

CD Projekt Red partnered with Seattle-based tabletop studio WeirdCo to launch the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game, a physical TCG that brings characters and factions from Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners into a physical tabletop game. Since debuting on Kickstarter on March 17th, the campaign has gone on to raise over $12 million with over 16,000 backers.

At this time, the official Cyberpunk Trading Card Game is the fastest-funded TCG in Kickstarter history. The game is promising a debut set following this campaign, titled ‘Welcome to Night City', featuring iconic characters from CD Projekt Red's game, including V, Johnny Silverhand, Judy Álvarez, Jackie Welles, and more. A second set is also already in the works, themed after the popular Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime.

It is unclear where the Cyberpunk TCG will go from there, but all of the stretch goals have been hit so far and the company is preparing a whole range of accessories to go along with the card game, including deck boxes, starter decks, booster boxes, playmats, premium 20-sided dice, card sleeves and more.

The first Cyberpunk TCG products are expected to begin shipping in Q3 2026, putting the release anywhere between July and the end of September.

KitGuru Says: As a big fan of card games and Cyberpunk, this Kickstarter campaign has been of particular interest to me. While it is causing a big splash right now though, the real test will be whether or not we see people playing the game at local game stores, like we do with Magic the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh! and other popular TCGs.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
