A Sonic Frontiers sequel is reportedly in development

While the idea of an open-world Sonic game seemed a bit outlandish at first, the game ended up being a hit amongst fans and sold quite well, picking up more players over time through a series of free DLC updates. Now, it is claimed that Sega is cooking up a sequel.

According to both DanielRPK and MbKKssTBhz5, two twitter leakers with decent track records, a Sonic Frontiers successor.

The new game will continue the open-world + linear-level direction of Sonic Frontiers, but may not strictly be called ‘Sonic Frontiers 2', so we may see a different name eventually. It is noted that Sonic Frontiers was initially planned to be titled Sonic Rangers, until a last-minute change prior to its public unveiling.

Sonic Frontiers released in December 2022 and received a year of post-launch support. With that in mind, it is likely still early days for the next game.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
