Frostpunk 2 is coming to PC and consoles in July, beta test in April

11-bit Studios had a hit on its hands when it first launched Frostpunk back in 2018. Since then, the studio has been hard at work on a big new sequel. During the Xbox Partner Preview stream this week, we finally got more details, with the game set to launch in July for PC and consoles.

Frostpunk 2 will officially launch on the 25th of July for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5. The release date announcement comes alongside a new trailer, giving us a closer look at the game in action.

If you want to test out the game early, then there will be a beta taking place in April 2024, with details on how to gain access to be given closer to the time. If you pick up the game's Digital Deluxe Edition, you'll also get access to three DLCs post-launch, as well as 72 hours of early access to the game's story mode.

KitGuru Says: Frostpunk is one of my favourite strategy games, so I'm very much looking forward to the sequel. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that it avoids the performance pitfalls of Cities: Skylines 2 at launch, which squandered much of the game's launch potential.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
