The Lollipop Chainsaw remake has been delayed to 2024

Back in 2022, one of the more surprising video game remakes was announced. The James Gunn-written action game, Lollipop Chainsaw, is coming back with a full remake. While initially, the new version was planned to release in 2023, it has now been pushed back to 2024.

As reported by IGN, the remake now has a new title “Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP”, and the game's release has also been pushed back from Summer 2023 to Summer 2024.

In a statement, Dragami Games, the studio behind the remake, said: “Although development of RePOP was carried out with the intention of a 2023 release, our commitment to providing the best possible quality experience to our players led us to making the hard decision to extend the development period in order to ensure this”.

Lollipop Chainsaw is a niche game. The original didn't score particularly well in reviews but there is a fan base here and perhaps the remake will reach a broader audience.

KitGuru Says: I played the original version of this for a couple of hours on the Xbox 360. I didn't think it was very good but seeing this remake coming out of nowhere does have me a tad intrigued.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
