Loop Hero headlines this week’s free Epic Games Store titles

Each week Epic Games gives away free titles through its store, a strategy that has greatly helped Epic boost its user numbers for the store. This week's free titles are now available, including indie hit Loop Hero.

Loop Hero is another hit from Devolver Digital. First launching in 2021, the game has garnered positive reviews from tens of thousands of players on the Steam platform. melding deck-building and roguelike mechanics for a satisfying gameplay loop. If you have yet to pick up this particular gem, then now is a great time, as it is free on the Epic Games Store until next week.

The second free game available this week is Bloons TD 6, a cartoony Tower Defence game that is also now available to stream through GeForce Now. If you grab the free copy from Epic Games this week, you'll be able to set up a free GFN account and then stream the game to any device with a screen and a web browser.

Both games will be free until the 10th of August. On that date, they will be replaced by Europa Universalis IV and Orwell: Keeping an Eye on You.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
