SEGA announces Sonic Central Showcase Stream

In recent years we have seen SEGA putting a greater deal of effort and time into the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, be it through new games, spin-offs, multi-media events and more. As part of the Blue Blur’s 32nd birthday, the publisher has now announced a new Sonic Central showcase.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Sonic the Hedgehog page said “Surprise! Sonic Central returns this Friday on Sonic's birthday!” adding that fans should “Tune in for a sneak peek of some of our upcoming projects, partnerships and events happening in 2023.”

The Sonic Central showcase will take place tomorrow – the 23rd of June – at 8am PST (4pm UK Time), and while we don’t have any concrete details on what to expect, there are a lot of Sonic-related things happening at the moment.

That said, we will likely get new information on Sonic Frontiers’ 2nd major update (titled ‘Sonic’s Birthday’), alongside more footage of Sonic Superstars, and perhaps a trailer for the Knuckles spin-off show. We don’t have long to wait in order to find out.
