Tetris The Absolute The Grand Master 2 PLUS announced for PlayStation and Switch

Tetris is one of the most iconic video games of all time, and while most players understand the mechanics of the title, each respective Tetris game has its own unique quirks and mechanics. Such is the case with Tetris The Absolute The Grand Master 2 PLUS, which is being ported to modern consoles for the first time ever.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Tetris Grand Master page revealed that “We are pleased to announce that we have licensed ‘Tetris The Absolute The Grand Master 2 PLUS’ to Hamster Inc. for porting to NintendoSwitch and Playstation4.”

No further details were shared, but if the porting of the first Grand Master game is anything to go by then this upcoming release will be included as part of the Arcade Archives series – meaning Tetris The Absolute The Grand Master 2 PLUS on PlayStation and Switch will most likely be an emulated port with a few enhancements added.

25 years on from its initial release, it is exciting to be getting ‘Tetris The Absolute The Grand Master 2 PLUS’ on current systems. Modern Tetris is fun in its own right, but there is something rather pure about the classic Tetris experience, making this announcement extra exciting.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
