Stranger of Paradise update will let you play as any party member

Stranger of Paradise is one of the more interesting Final Fantasy spin-offs. The action souls-like has resonated with fans of the franchise – including the game’s edgy protagonist. That being said, soon you will be able to select and play as any of the game’s party members in an upcoming free update.

Making the announcement on Twitter the official Stranger of Paradise account said “Want to play as someone other than Jack when playing Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin in single player? In the latest update coming to Trials of the Dragon King, you'll now be able to choose whether you fight as Jack or another of his recruited warriors.”

Often following a game’s launch one of the first mods made is one which allows for you to play as other characters within the game. It is interesting and exciting to see Square Enix offering this option in an official capacity.

It is currently unknown if the characters will share the same animations, or whether more bespoke translations of the combat will be made for each character – though it is likely to be the former.

Regardless, it is nice to see players being given the freedom to choose to play as whomever they want. Hopefully more games follow suit.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
