Guerrilla Games expanding into a new office to make games faster

Guerrilla Games hit it out of the park last year with Horizon Zero Dawn on the PS4. The studio reinvented itself in one swoop, and now, the team would like to capitalise on its success by moving to a larger office with the goal of making new games faster.

Guerrilla Games is moving to a new five-floor office in the Telegraad complex. After the move, Guerrilla will almost double its employee count, which will help create large games at a faster rate. Speaking with Parool, Guerrilla Games Managing Director, Hermen Hulst, explained that work on Horizon Zero Dawn took six and a half years.

With a new office in place and a larger pool of employees, Hulst hopes that Guerrilla will be able to create games in a shorter time span. The aim is to be able to push out a new game within three years rather than six.

Horizon Zero Dawn was highly praised at launch and the game's expansion kept people coming back in December. We don't know if there will be a sequel yet, but chances are, Horizon Zero Dawn is going to be a new staple franchise for Sony, with Guerrilla Games at the helm.

KitGuru Says: It’s clear that Guerrilla Games have a lot offer both Sony and gamers going forward, its good to see they are expanding and will be releasing more quality games, in a shorter timeframe. Are Guerrilla Games one of your favourite developers?

Todd Howard also wishes The Elder Scrolls 6 had come out faster

Todd Howard made a rare comment on the state of the game this week, saying that he too wished that things had moved faster.
