Horizon Forbidden West sequel reportedly targeting 2027 cross-gen launch

Guerrilla Games is pretty well known for being a leaky studio at this point. Through various sources, we've learned about the multiplayer Horizon spin-off early, and now, we are also starting to see leaks around plans for Horizon 3.

The next major installment in the Horizon series is claimed to be targeting a 2027 launch, according to a new potential leaker on the scene, TCMFGames. The account claims that Horizon 3, which will complete Aloy's trilogy, may also be a cross-generation game, releasing for both PS5 and the PlayStation 6, which is expected to arrive in 2027.

The Horizon series so far has sold 30 million copies, spanning two games – Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West. The third game in the trilogy will supposedly focus on Nemesis, a rogue AI heading towards earth, as shown during the events of Forbidden West.

It is also claimed that the long-rumoured Horizon multiplayer spin-off will release before the next major single-player game.

KitGuru Says: It feels a bit too soon to be talking about next-gen consoles, as the pandemic led to so many game delays. Still, it seems as though the industry will be forging ahead, with both Microsoft and Sony apparently targeting 2027 for new hardware launches.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
