Google drop Nik photography collection price to $149

Google have dropped the price of their complete NIK Collection from $499 to $149. The new Collection includes all of the Nik desktop plugins. The collection comprises the Viveza 2, Dfine 2.0, HDR Efex Pro 2, Color Efect Pro 4 Complete Edition, Sharpener Pro 3.0, and Silver Efex Pro 2 plugins.

The plugins can be used with Viveza 2, Dfine 2.0, HDR Efex Pro 2, Color Efect Pro 4 Complete Edition, Sharpener Pro 3.0, and Silver Efex Pro 2.

The people over at DPReview chatted with Google's Product Manager Josh Haftel who said “We definitely plan to continue developing and evolving the software. This is our first release and by bringing this under the Google brand, we hope to show our commitment not only to Nik users, but to the photography community at large.”

Google are offering free downloads to customers who have previously purchased the software. Those who bought one or more of the plugins with the last 5 years can get the Nik Collection for free and those people who bought one or more plugins after February 22nd 2013, spending more than $149 will get a refund for the difference in price.

Kitguru says: A good deal for everyone, we think.
