GSC Game World has officially announced the release date for Cost of Hope, the upcoming major expansion for Stalker 2. The new expansion arrives in August, alongside a major free 2.0 update for the base game. 

Earlier this week, a former GSC Game World founder claimed that Stalker 2 essentially paid for itself on day one thanks to a major timed exclusivity deal with Xbox. Now, the studio has issued a response pushing back on those comments.

STALKER 2 has been out for almost a year and a half now and during that time, GSC Game World has issued a lot of major updates to the game at no extra cost. Now, fans have new adventures to look forward to, with the first major expansion, titled 'Cost of Hope', coming out later this year.
