iPad 2 launch in Japan delayed

The recent disaster in Japan has been one of the worst in history. The economy is trying to deal with widespread devastation and loss of life. The latest news we have heard is that Apple feel that launching the iPad 2 at this time is not the wisest of choices.

The iPad 2 was due to go on sale on the 25th of March, the same time as the United Kingdom, but Apple have removed the date and have not confirmed when they will launch it in Japan.

Natalie Kerris, an Apple spokesperson said “Our hearts go out to the people of Japan, including our employees and their families who have been impacted by this terrible tragedy.”

Apple have also said that all of their employees in Japan have been accounted for and are safe. Apple sales of the iPad2 in America have seen huge, selling over 1 million units to date.

KitGuru says: Apple will announce the new launch date later.
