Reader Rigs! Operation Richland

We post hundreds of reader rigs every month on our active Facebook page, but today we wanted to share one very special build which comes from reader Zen Castro Resurreccion.

Zen created this little work of art for the Davao Cyber Expo 2013 which ended yesterday. He built the custom case from an AMMO which took a week or so. He said the case itself houses the 5.56mm bullets uses for M16's.

He said he originally wanted to repaint it but he decided to dress it up with actual Military desert storm camo clothing which he got online. He sewed it and hand built the case but says his hands have a ton of little needle pricks on them after creating the case cover. He then made a pouch to place the power cable and vga cable and on the front are a series of .50 cal bullets.

The decals are printed using heat press but the inside was tricky as he had very little space to work with. He then made a separate acrylic case so he could pull all of the hardware out in one piece, using PARACORD cable sleeving. He then painted the base with brown primer and top cost with ivory white. He then hacked and slashed the case with a steel brush replacement and sprayed it matt black for the war damaged look.

I think its pretty cool. He put an AMD A10-6800k processor inside with an ASROCK FM2A75M-ITX board and OCA memory and Vector SSD.

Specs:

  • AMD A10-6800K
  • Asrock FM2A75M-ITX
  • OCZ 2x2GB 1600Mhz CL7
  • OCZ 256GB Vector SSD
  • LG 350W Rated SFF PSU
