Google announced Android 4.1 Jelly Bean last month at Google I/O and in the keynote that was about an hour long a lot of information was bound to completely surpass us. While those who have been following Android you should already be aware of the key features such as Project Butter and Google Now but at times, it can be the little things that matter the most.

For example you can now send share photos and videos over Android Beam using Bluetooth, additional options for vision impaired users and USB audio support. Looking through the rest of the list there a few other gems, such as the automatic disabling of background data while using a Wi-Fi SSID that has been designated as a mobile hotspot and an easily accessible Windows-like safe mode.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is currently only available on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the now-shipping Google Nexus 7 tablet but will slowly make its way officially (and unofficially) to other devices in the coming months.

KitGuru says: Android 4.1 should hopefully be the last update for the better part of a year to allow manufacturers to play catch up with software updates.
