Leaked Service manual gives an insight into Key specifications of Nexus 5

The Nexus series of smartphones and tablets has been prone to leaks prior to its official release and this time is no exception, as we have full details of the Google Phone days before its launch. A service manual for the Nexus 5 has leaked online and reveals most of the key specifications of the smartphone and also gives information on how the handset can be opened up.

The document claims that the smartphone will have a 4.95-inch IPS display, with a 1920×1080 pixel Full HD resolution. The smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 800 chipset with the CPU clocked at an impressive 2.3GHz, coupled with 2GB of RAM. The ‘5' will sport 16GB and 32GB of built-in storage but there is no information on the any available expansion options. The rear of the smartphone has an 8MP camera with OIS and the front has a 1.3MP camera for video calling. A 2300mAh battery powers the entire package. The Nexus 5 is expected to run on Android 4.4 KitKat, the latest release from Google's OS straight out of the box.

There has been a lot of speculation about the launch date of Nexus 5. Some suggest a mid October reveal whereas others suggest that the smartphone will be unveiled in November. There were also rumours that LG would not be making the Nexus 5, but with the number of leaks pointing at LG, we think it will indeed be responsible for the phone.

Kitguru says: Now and then we come across ‘leaks' which are often related to popular smartphones prior to their release. Are these done on purpose to create a hype and headlines or are they valid and legitimate slips? Its worth a debate.
