Back in October, G.Skill cracked the world record for fastest SODIMM with its 32GB 3800MHz Ripjaws. Now, the crown has been passed to Corsair for its 32GB Vengeance kit at a whopping 4000MHz.

SO-DIMM memory often makes compromises, sacrificing speed for its smaller size so as to fit into laptops and all-in-one PCs with ease. Corsair seems to have found a balance, hand-sorting and extensively binning Samsung B-die ICs to stabilise the kit at such a high speed.

Its tight timings of CL19-23-23-45 at 1.35V have been tested by Corsair itself using Intel’s high-end-desktop X299 motherboard platform. Specifically, ASRock’s X299E-ITX motherboard was used alongside an Intel Core i7-7820X processor for testing, but Corsair states that other boards like it will be able to house the new kit.

The tests show that not only does the Vengeance SODIMM 4000MHz kit run at the aforementioned timings, speed and voltage, but it does so flawlessly. This is further enhanced thanks to XMP 2.0, which makes all of this achievable with one simple BIOS setting.

The Corsair Vengeance SODIMM DDR4 4x8GB at 4000MHz is already available, however its $594.99 price will leave a massive hole in your pocket. It’s unlikely at this price point that we will see the kit make its way into many pre-built mini-ITX systems in the near future.
