Dead Cells’ development comes to an end after long-awaited ‘End is Near’ update

While Evil Empire has begun Early Access development of its new Prince of Persia roguelike game, the studio is still working with Motion Twin on the hit game, Dead Cells. After 35 updates, a number of DLCs and free content additions too, Dead Cells development is coming to an end.

Update 35 has been confirmed as the final patch for Dead Cells. The update, titled ‘The End is Near' is due to roll out to all Dead Cells players on the 19th of August.

The new update will include new weapons, new mobs to fight, new mutations and other new additions to bring more variety to the game for those going back for another playthrough. Update 35 will also include some QoL and accessibility updates.

With Dead Cells development coming to an end, Motion Twin will be moving on to its next big project, which is due to be announced. Evil Empire is now also working alongside Ubisoft on its new roguelike game, The Rogue Prince of Persia, which is in Early Access at the moment.
