EVE Online adds Microsoft Excel integration with latest update

It has been a little over a year since CCP Games and Microsoft announced a new partnership to bring Microsoft Excel integration to the game. Now, that update has finally arrived.

Hardcore EVE Online players have long used spreadsheets to calculate profits and battle damage. Up to now, they have had to fill these manually. However, with this update, users will now be able to export their game data directly into Excel spreadsheets.

This might all sound a bit bizarre to those who aren't aware of Eve Online, or have never played the game, but the community gets really serious about the economy and many space wars have been waged between player factions. The most hardcore players and factions often use spreadsheets to track things and figure out more efficient ways to conduct everything, from battles to freight runs to earn cash.

Eve's new Excel feature was developed in collaboration with Microsoft's Excel team. Players will be able to view assets, market orders, item prices, wallet transactions, skills and corporation finances through Excel, with the feature granting quick and easy access to a trove of game data.
