The Xbox Elite controller is selling out worldwide

Back at E3, Microsoft announced its new Xbox Elite controller, a premium gamepad with modular components for customisability. However, those features come at a price, £120/$150- which sounds like an awful lot of money for a controller but that hasn't put people off one bit.

Xbox's Major Nelson has revealed that the controller is selling out worldwide and that healthy stock levels won't return until December. This is obviously causing prices of the controller to soar on sites like eBay, where many auctions are going as high as £200.

“Seeing some questions about Elite Controller availability so let me say this: they are sold out at most retailers around the world. More Elite Controllers are arriving each week, but supplies may be limited until early Dec.”

Right now, the controller is in stock at GAME and Amazon here in the UK, though is things keep going like this, that may not last long. The Elite controller officially launched just last week and critics have been very impressed so far, though many are still debating the value of a £120 controller.

KitGuru Says: Supplies of the Elite controller are very limited right now, which is quite unexpected. Most comment sections across the web are filled with people gawking at the price but it seems plenty are willing to put down that amount of cash on a controller. Have any of you invested a lot of money in a peripheral? What is the most you have spent on a mouse, keyboard or controller?
