Cougar’s new case brings unique ‘pillarless’ design to the market

Cougar's latest PC case aims to set itself apart from the crowd with a new ‘pillarless' design. The Cougar FV270 will be the first case to feature this, with the front left corner curving upwards, and a large tempered glass wrap-around side-panel to offer a panoramic view of your build.

The front-bottom compartment features a 120mm fan positioned diagonally and is distinctively visible thanks to its RGB lighting. Moreover, the top compartment of the case, which houses the motherboard tray, can accommodate graphics cards up to 450mm in length (420mm horizontally) and CPU coolers up to 180mm tall. The bottom compartment of the case has enough space to fit power supplies up to 250mm long, along with a drive cage with two 2.5-inch drive bays or a 3.5-inch bay. Two more 2.5-inch drives (or a 3.5-inch drive) can be installed underneath the motherboard tray.

The FV270's expansion slots can be turned 90°, allowing for vertical alignment of graphics cards, although a riser is not included. The motherboard tray (up to E-ATX) also features a support that prevents graphics cards from bending, and the side of the case contains space for an extra two 120mm or 140mm fans, or up to a 280mm radiator for liquid cooling. The PSU shroud also supports up to a 240mm radiator, and the top vent has room for up to a 360mm radiator, or three 120mm fans.

The FV270 case comes in two variants: the RGB model, which includes four pre-installed RGB fans, and the standard model, which only has one RGB fan. Both models are available in black and white.

KitGuru says: What colour do you prefer on the new Cougar FV270? Would you get the RGB version, which already has some decent-looking fans, or would you prefer to choose your own?
