Enshrouded exits early access this October, Xbox version delayed to 2027

Keen Games has officially announced that its co-op survival action-RPG, Enshrouded, will leave Steam Early Access and officially launch as version 1.0 on October 15th. The milestone marks the end of a multi-year testing phase that began in January 2024. While the full release will simultaneously welcome PlayStation 5 players, Xbox Series X|S owners will have to wait a bit longer.

The upcoming October release marks the point at which the studio's foundational gameplay loop, world architecture, and multiplayer systems are fully realised. On PC via Steam and PlayStation 5, the game exits Early Access on October 15th, with existing player saves carried over. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series X|S versions are scheduled for a Spring 2027 release to allow the studio time for optimisation.

Since its launch in early access, the game has already sold over 5 million copies and received eight major content updates. These updates included quality-of-life improvements (transmog, player-based quest progression, etc), fishing mechanics, a combat overhaul, a dynamic voxel water simulation, and new biomes, regions, and weapons.

With a respectable 85% Steam rating over 100K reviews, the game seems to be pleasing most of its players.
