Capcom reportedly making ‘ambitious’ story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem

Capcom previously confirmed that Resident Evil Requiem will receive a story DLC, but no release window has been announced. Now, a new leak suggests fans may be waiting a bit longer than expected.

According to Resident Evil insider Dusk Golem, the Requiem story DLC might be planned for after the release of Resident Evil Veronica, Capcom’s newly announced remake of the classic Code Veronica spin‑off. Veronica is currently targeting a 2027 launch window, likely in Q1 based on Capcom’s usual scheduling. If accurate, this means Requiem’s story DLC may not land until more than a year after the game’s February 2026 launch.

The leaker claims Capcom is investing in larger, more ambitious story expansions for future Resident Evil titles. This longer development cycle could explain the extended wait for Requiem’s DLC and may indicate that the expansion will be bigger than past Resident Evil DLCs, such as Separate Ways or Shadow of Rose.

Capcom hasn't made any official announcements yet, so we don't know how accurate any of this information is. However, the idea of more ambitious DLCs certainly sounds good. Capcom is already doing something similar with other games, like Dragon's Dogma and Monster Hunter.

KitGuru says: Resident Evil Requiem wrapped up two decades worth of history in a very satisfying way. With that in mind, I'm not sure what more a major story expansion could add, but it could be an interesting way for Capcom to bridge the gap to the next era of Resident Evil.
