Mobile is one of those areas of the gaming market that Ubisoft has struggled to break into. Numerous projects based on big-name IP have released over the years only to shut down shortly after. Rainbow Six Mobile is the latest attempt to suffer this fate.
Ubisoft has revealed that it is ending service for Rainbow Six Mobile. The game will remain playable until early next year, and plans for its next season will go ahead as scheduled. However, after January 15th 2027, the game will no longer be available to play or download.
In the announcement, Ubisoft wrote: “There’s no easy way to put it, we have made the difficult decision to sunset Rainbow Six Mobile. The game will remain available until January 15, 2027. The next season will be released as planned next week.”
“While we are proud of what this team and community have built together, our team will move on to other long-term strategic projects. In the coming weeks, we will share more updates so you know exactly what to expect and can prepare for the transition. Thank you for being part of Rainbow Six Mobile and for everything you have brought to this community. We are truly grateful to everyone who has played our game.”
Rainbow Six Mobile was first announced in 2022, before rolling out to some regions in 2023. Over time, the game opened up to more players across the world, but it didn't quite reach the heights of its mobile shooter rivals like COD Mobile and PUBG Mobile.
