Techland will drop major Dying Light: The Beast update this week

Techland continues to bring major updates to Dying Light: The Beast. While we are still awaiting an official press release, IGN has reported that Dying Light: The Beast Restored Land is on the way, a new edition of the game that includes all previous DLC, alongside new content for a new, lower price.

Dying Light: The Beast Restored Land will bundle the base game, all previous DLCs and new content like a survival focused mode built around permanent world restoration. This new edition of the game will apparently drop on Thursday this week, which hints that it could perhaps be part of the upcoming Xbox Partner Preview, which is happening on the same day.

The headline addition is the Restored Land mode, which removes enemy and loot respawns and tasks players with reclaiming the environment zone by zone. As areas are cleared, the world gradually shifts from overrun to restored. This mode also introduces harsher survival rules, including higher vendor prices, stricter resource scarcity, and new management systems for hunger and flashlight batteries.

The edition also includes Roadkill Rallies, a set of vehicular challenges, and an optional One Life mode for players seeking a higher-stakes run. Completing a full Restored Land playthrough grants prestige rewards that carry into subsequent attempts.

Dying Light: The Beast Restored Land Edition will be available as a free upgrade to those who already own the game. More details on new features and post-launch content are expected to be revealed on Thursday.
