Call of Duty Black Ops 1 and 2 appear on PlayStation’s servers for PS4/5

While the Call of Duty Black Ops series may be on its 7th entry at this point, many agree that two of Treyarch’s greatest works came with the first 2 Black Ops games. Released back in 2010 and 2012 respectively, these PS3-era CODs have been left behind on PlayStation owing to the lack of PS3 backwards compatibility. Fortunately, a proper current-gen port seems to be on the way, with PlayStation’s back-end servers now listing the duology as coming to PS4 / PS5.

As reported by ‘PlayStation Game Size’ (who datamines new game entries through PlayStation’s servers), both Call of Duty Black Ops 1 and 2 have been listed internally with PS4 / PS5 as the target platforms.

When asked for more details, the ‘leaker’ claimed that these releases should include more than just the campaign, meaning Zombies and hopefully multiplayer as well.

Black Ops PS5

This isn’t the first time that we’ve heard of the OG Black Opses coming to current-gen hardware, with the Korean Games Rating board listing both titles for PlayStation at the tail-end of May.

While seemingly not a remaster, hopefully at the very least these ports include high framerates; a 4K (or close enough) resolution; all DLC and most importantly an FOV slider. We shouldn’t have to wait too long to find out.

KitGuru says: Do you think Microsoft / Activision is planning to bring back these two titles? How much would you be willing to pay for a port featuring the above? What’s your favourite Call of Duty of all time? Let us know down below.
