Switch 2 Edition of Pikmin 3 Deluxe unveiled by PEGI ratings board

One of Nintendo’s main strategies for the Switch 2 so far has focused on its Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrades – which are essentially ports of Switch 1 titles with a resolution and framerate boost alongside a couple hours worth of additional content. Following the likes of Breath of the Wild; Kirby and the Forgotten Land; Mario Party Jamboree and others, it appears as though Pikmin 3 Deluxe is the next game to receive a Switch 2 Edition.

As discovered by the publication Gematsu, the Pan European Game Information (PEGI) ratings board have posted a listing for Pikmin 3 Deluxe coming to the Nintendo Switch 2.

For context, Pikmin 3 Deluxe was released back in 2020 for the Nintendo Switch. That said, the game’s non-deluxe version originally launched well over a decade ago in 2013 for the Wii U.

Pikmin Switch 2 Edition

This will mark the second Switch 2 Edition of what was ostensibly a Wii U title, with the aforementioned Breath of the Wild being a Switch 1 launch title as well as the Wii U’s swansong.

Given that it has yet to be officially announced, no details have been shared. That said, expect the upgrade to cost you around $20 while offering higher resolutions and potentially smoother framerates. Unfortunately, many of Nintendo’s Switch 2 editions have so far been rather underwhelming, and so it will be interesting to see what exactly is planned for Pikmin 3 Deluxe.
