Keychron is continuing its expansion into the gaming sector with the launch of the C0 HE 8K, a specialised left-handed Hall effect gamepad designed for competitive play. Priced at $59.99, this wired-only 35-key device acts as a cheaper gateway into the world of rapid-response analogue switches.
Unlike Keychron’s premium Q-series, the C0 HE 8K (via TechPowerUP) skips the aluminium chassis and gasket mounts in favour of a tray-mount ABS plastic build, prioritising affordability over build quality. The device is equipped with Keychron’s new Ultra-Fast Magnetic Lime switches, which feature a light 25 g actuation force, an all-POM construction for smooth travel, and a total distance of 3.35 mm. Because it uses Hall effect technology, users can utilise the Keychron Launcher web tool to customise every aspect of the switch, including Rapid Trigger, DKS (Dynamic Keystroke), Mod Tap, SOCD (Simultaneous Opposing Cardinal Directions), and adjustable actuation points down to a fraction of a millimetre.
Visually, the C0 HE 8K adopts a sharp, angular aesthetic that feels more like an industrial control surface than a traditional keyboard. It features an integrated silicone palm rest and an ergonomic angled space bar, which Keychron claims is sculpted to match the natural resting position of a thumb. The keycaps (OEM profile) are double-shot, shine-through ABS to see the RGB lighting. While marketed to gamers who want to free up desk space for large mouse movements, Keychron is also positioning the C0 HE 8K as a secondary control pad for video editors and designers who need a dedicated bank of programmable analogue keys.
KitGuru says: By stripping away the wireless connectivity and aluminium build that drives up costs, Keychron has created an affordable gamepad that offers the same 8K polling rate and Rapid Trigger tech found in much more expensive one-handed keyboards.
