Apple expected to ship 40 million iPhone 5’s in Q4

The Apple iPhone 5 has already proven to be a big seller, which won't come as a shock to many. Shipments of the iPhone 5 in Q4 is said to hit around 40 million according to sources in Taipei.

We heard a couple of hours ago that the shipments from the iPhone 5 supply chain are to be ramped up in November and December.

The iPhone 5 has sold well so far, but Apple have been dealing with low yield issues at component suppliers according to the sources. Recently the yields are improving so Apple can produce more iPhone 5 phones in the last couple of months of the year. This is ideal as it means that more people can buy the smartphone in the run up to the end of year Christmas rush.

Kitguru says: Sales of the iPhone 5 should also be strong in Q1 2013 as component deliveries continue to improve.
