Samsung to release Note 6 in UK but not Galaxy S7 Edge+

Last year, Samsung decided to not release the Galaxy Note 5 here in the UK, instead opting to focus its marketing push on the Galaxy S6 Edge+. However, this year that will apparently change, with the Note 6 coming to the UK but instead, Samsung won't be bringing over the Galaxy S7 Edge+ this time around. Apparently this change is due to the backlash Samsung faced after the Note 5 did not launch in the country.

This is all according to a report from TechRadar, which spoke to an anonymous source at one of the UK's major networks. One source told them: “Samsung isn't going to launch the S7 Edge+ in the UK. I got the impression that it had been a bit of a disappointment sales-wise and that the decision to keep the Note 5 out of Europe is now considered a mistake.”

While the Note series had always been popular in the UK, the new Galaxy Edge+ line was unproven when it launched last year so many were disappointed when it completely replaced the Note 5 in the UK last year. Now it seems that Samsung also agrees that this was a mistake and will be reversing its decision if this report is to be believed.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will be launching in the UK in August and while we will be getting a Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge in the UK, there won't be an Edge+.

KitGuru Says: It did seem like a mistake to not bring the Galaxy Note 5 to the UK last year. I know quite a few of our readers are Note users who were left disappointed. Do you guys think Samsung is making the right decision this year?
