More info on Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 appears online

We have been hearing quite a bit about Samsung's 2016 Galaxy Note device recently and this week, more information popped up online. This time around, we got confirmation that Samsung will be skipping the Galaxy Note 6 and jumping straight to the Galaxy Note 7 in order to get the Galaxy S and Note series back on the same naming track.

This week's information came to us from Evan Blass, the tech journalist behind EVLeaks, who tweeted out some new information about Samsung's Note 7. According to the leaker, the Note 7 name is confirmed and the device will ship with a Iris Scanner as a new form of unlocking the device.

On top of that, some specifications were given. Potential Note 7 buyers can look forward to a 5.7-inch 1440p Super AMOLED display, 64GB of storage plus a microSD slot, a 12MP camera on the back and a 5MP one on the front, IP68 water and dust protection rating and finally, the Note 7 will be launching in Black, Silver and Blue colours.

Samsung is currently expected to announce the Galaxy Note 7 at a launch event on the 2nd of August, though we have yet to get exact confirmation of this or see the press invitations.

KitGuru Says: The Galaxy Note 7 will be launching in just a couple of months time. Are any of you using a Note smartphone at the moment? Are you looking to upgrade this year?
