Another 50,000 cheaters were banned from Call of Duty: Warzone last week

One of the toughest parts of making a competitive online game is keeping cheaters at bay. Developers are constantly battling against cheaters in Call of Duty: Warzone and so far, Raven Software has banned half a million accounts. Last week, an additional two ban waves took place, taking out another 50,000 cheaters. 

This follows on from a story in May, where Raven Software confirmed that it has banned over 500,000 accounts from Warzone. Since earlier this year, ban waves have been taking place more frequently, with two happening last week alone. During those two ban waves, another 50,000 cheaters had their accounts banned.

Interestingly, repeat offenders were a specific target during this ban wave, although a number of first-time bans were also issued.

Activision recently put a stop to a machine-learning assisted cheat that would have enabled auto-aim and auto-fire on consoles, in addition to PC. The cheat would have worked by analysing game footage and sending input commands to automatically target and shoot opposing players.
