Scythe launches a new version of the Kotetsu CPU air cooler

Scyther has decided it was time to update the popular Kotetsu CPU air cooler. The Kotetsu Mark III has now been announced, featuring a redesigned heatsink with a top cover, a new mounting system, and a new fan.

The cooler has a compact heatsink with a dense array of 0.4mm aluminium fins and four 6mm diameter copper heat pipes connected to a nickel-plated copper 40x40mm base plate. On top of the heatsink, there's a sleek black top cover with an anodized brushed metal finish.

To cool the heatsink, the CPU cooler comes with a Kaze Flex II 120mm PWM fan (max. 1500RPM) with a maximum airflow of 67.62CFM and static pressure of 1.5mmH2O. The fan's improved frame design and anti-vibration rubber ensure low noise during operation. Furthermore, the cooler has Scythe's improved Retention System Ver. 5, making it compatible with various CPU sockets, including Intel LGA 1150, 1151, 1156, 1200 and 1700, and AMD AM4 and AM5.

The Kotetsu Mark III is 80mm deep and 154mm tall, offering 100% RAM clearance for your memory. Additionally, the optimised elevated asymmetrical design prevents the heat pipes from overhanging the VRM heatsink at the back for the latest motherboards.
