Dead Island movie planned

Lets be honest, punters can't get enough of zombies and vampires this year. News has hit that game ‘Dead Island' could very well be turned into a movie.

Lionsgate boss Joe Drake said ‘The film Dead Island will be an innovation of the zombie genre because of its focus on human emotion, family ties and non-linear storytelling, This is exactly the type of property we're looking to adapt at Lionsgate – it's sophisticated, edgy, and a true elevation of a genre that we know and love. It also has built in brand recognition around the world, and franchise potential.”

Lionsgate have optioned the rights for the movie with the original trailer serving as the blueprint for a script, which is still in the early stages. One of the producers is Sean Daniel who was responsible for movies such as The Mummy and Tombstone. No mention of any budget, release date, or cast.
