Exoprimal x Dino Crisis could happen “if there’s enough demand”

One of the most interesting games to be released by Capcom this year is Exoprimal – a co-op shooter which sees you take on hordes of dinosaurs. The publisher has already revealed that the game is set to get a number of crossovers including a Street Fighter VI and Monster Hunter collab. Despite the clear thematic links, Capcom have yet to announce a crossover with the classic FPS Dino Crisis, revealing that it might happen “If there’s enough demand from players.”

In an interview conducted by Siliconera, Exoprimal Director Takuro Hiraoka spoke on a number of topics ranging from their history with the industry to work on Exoprimal itself.

In discussing the many promised collabs which are set to take place within the world of Exoprimal, Hiraoka was asked “If you had free reign to pick additional collaborations, which ones would you like to pursue?” to which they responded:

“I think it would be a lot of fun to have a collaboration with the Mega Man series, which I’ve been playing since my younger days. The idea of going head-to-head with monsters from the fantasy world of the Dragon’s Dogma series personally excites me as well.”

Notably, Hiraoka did not mention any crossovers with Capcom’s other major dinosaur-focused IP ‘Dino Crisis’. When asked if a crossover between the two series could take place, the director responded:

“Leviathan [Exoprimal’s AI antagonist] is the type of entity that will go to any means to collect a variety of useful combat data. If there’s enough demand from players, Leviathan very well could make this a reality.”

Given the fan demand for anything Dino Crisis since the series went on hiatus back in 2003, such a crossover between it and Exoprimal not only makes a great deal of sense, but could serve as a platform to bring back the long-dormant IP. We will have to wait and see.

KitGuru Games: DLSS 5 misses the point

It would be hard to argue that NVIDIA’s DLSS technologies haven’t been a net positive to the PC space, with the machine-learning based upscaler successfully translating lower resolution inputs into a final image which is perceivably sharper while hogging fewer resources. Though somewhat more contentious, the next evolution of DLSS came in the form of Frame Generation, using ML in order to generate additional frames for high-refresh rate gaming. Both techniques can have their issues, but generally speaking they’ve allowed for more people to experience higher-end titles at increased frame rates. DLSS 5, however, takes a sharp pivot, with a very different end goal in mind than the performance-boosting versions that came before.
